About the PMKSY – Per Drop More Crop Scheme

The Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY) – Per Drop More Crop – is a Government of India initiative aimed at improving water-use efficiency in farming. It encourages farmers to adopt modern micro-irrigation systems, helping them save water, reduce costs, and boost yields.

In Tamil Nadu, the scheme is implemented with a combination of central and state contributions, along with an additional state subsidy.
The scheme offers:

  • 100% subsidy for Small & Marginal Farmers

  • 75% subsidy for Other Farmers

This makes high-quality irrigation systems affordable and accessible for every farmer.
